Living by the coast has always been a dream for me – throughout my dog Harley’s almost nine years, we have spent countless days enjoying Formby beach. Following Harley’s recent health scare and her ongoing autoimmune flare-ups, I realised there was no point waiting for the “perfect” time. I wanted her to be able to enjoy the sand dunes while she still can and have the best possible quality of life right now, so we brought our relocation forward. We are now officially settled in Ainsdale, just a few hundred metres from the beach.

Because of this move, I am thrilled to announce that my books are now officially open for in-person clients across the local coastline. If you are a dog guardian searching for a compassionate dog trainer near you, here is everything you need to know about how we can work together.

New In-Person Areas: Ainsdale, Southport & Formby I am now offering in-person, one-to-one behavioural support for dogs across the Merseyside and West Lancashire coast, including:

  • Ainsdale
  • Southport
  • Formby
  • Birkdale
  • Churchtown

Business as Usual for Warrington & St Helens For my current and prospective clients in Warrington, St Helens, and the surrounding areas, absolutely nothing is changing. Positive Steps is still operating normally in your area. My working hours, your sessions, and my availability for future bookings remain exactly the same.

Specialist Behavioural Support Whether you are navigating stressful daily walks or struggling to leave your dog home alone, you do not have to tackle these complex behaviour challenges by yourself.

  • Reactive Dog Training: If your dog barks, lunges, or panics at the sight of other dogs or passing cars, we work on changing their underlying emotional response using tactical management and core engagement skills.
  • Separation Anxiety Resolution: Separation anxiety is a clinical panic condition. Through evidence-based, highly supportive training plans, we help your dog learn that being home alone is safe and relaxing. (Note: Remote separation anxiety support is available worldwide).
  • Life Skills & Enrichment: We focus on building calm, cooperative life skills and low-arousal enrichment strategies to keep your dog’s nervous system regulated.

Why Choose a Dog Behaviourist? At Positive Steps, all training is rooted in modern, science-backed, and compassionate methods. By respecting your dog’s boundaries and listening to their warning signs, we build genuine trust and long-lasting behavioural changes without the use of fear or intimidation.
